Abstract

Internal Conflicts in Nigeria has been rampant with considerable violence and social conflagration. Conflicts occur even in the midst of cooperation among individuals and the society at large.

This article examined the genesis of conflicts and the casual effects with trends and chronicle in Nigeria and Africa in general.

The article discovered that though the conflicts categorised as internal or international is basically centered on violence with displacement of people from various settlements and most conflicts were partly resolved through Negotiations.

This article concluded that military solution is not the best in conflicts management. Changing the conventional frontier from militarism to conflict settlement through Negotiation will solidify the lasting peace.
