Abstract
This article underscores, through events, statistics, legislation and case law, why juvenile violence happens. Section I discusses cultural and societal factors. Section II reveals the values dearth in public education, and Section III explores the decline in family influence on school-age children. The final Appendix A includes a logarithmic graph illustrating technological power, speed and explosive strength of weapons.
