Transformation of Dominant Values of Correctional Education in Russia

The report is devoted to the problem of transformation of dominant values of correctional education in Russia. The research was conducted in January 2017-July 2017. We consider development of personality as one of the most important dominant values of correctional education in Russia. In the study, we used such sampling method as snowball technique. 56 semi-structured interviews with correctional teachers were conducted. The sample comprised 56 correctional education teachers. Respondent’s age was 30–55 years old. Amongst the 56 teachers, 23 were working in correctional schools and 33 in correctional classes of secondary schools. Some of them (15%) participated in special grant programmers and training courses on correctional education. According to the Results of this study there are two main factors of transformation of dominant values of correctional education in Russia:
1. The situation o transformation of consciousness of professional community; 2. Transformation of the system of education in Russia.
As the result of investigation we created the system of recommendations how to apply new system of dominant values for development of correctional education in Russia.
