The general theory of psychology states we act on our ideas, the set of our sail. The intensity of action derived from the emotions associated with those ideas, emotions the wind in our sail.
Imagine everything you know in mind, imagine it at a point, call that NOW. Everything in mind at that point is and can only be from past experience. It is proved in many studies that the ideas we apply/use to 'look' determines what we 'see'. We see with our mind not with our eyes.
Now, imagine one second past NOW and we encounter something new, something we have never seen before. How do we interpret it?
We have no choice. We can only interpret it in relation to what is in our mind. And if the new circumstance triggers ideas with associated emotion, then we will respond with those emotions.
W Ross Ashby called the ideas in mind 'borrowed knowledge'. It is what we bring from our past to interpret our present and so direct our steps to our future. I have applied the term 'switch human development' to describe the counseling processes guiding our management of borrowed knowledge and associated emotion to switch our brains from our historical accumulated responses to responses determined by our choice for ourselves and the future we seek for ourselves.
The argument above is why academic peer review is an inadequate process for assessing and interpreting intellectual quality, it is a process grounded in borrowed knowledge with major potential for self-serving decisions.
The same argument also applies when new social science theories arise involving society or organizations.
OPD-HCD™ is a new technology for designing and operating organizations that improves roll out of strategy, delivering increased results and lifting work-life fulfillment in staff. All aspects of team leadership and performance development is changed.
To successfully guide the new ideas be adopted and applied requires the facilitator 'see' the organization and the link to people though and only through the 'eyes' of OPD-HCD™. Which means they must think fully and only in the mode of OPD-HCD™. Hence this training program and certification as OPDQF, an OPD Qualified Facilitator.
Currently, only OPD International Limited is authorized to issue OPDQF certification. It is expected other institutions will be authorized in the future.
