Abstract

Literature on research collaboration has not yet paid enough attention to the ways in which contribution actually takes place. Acknowledging research collaboration as an autonomous level of analysis, this study introduces an original method, the Contribution Matrix (CM) to analyze “who did what”. Taking advantage of the contemporary collaborative settings used for the development of the UPSat satellite, the application of the CM in this field allows a first typology of contributions in research collaborations developing technologies. This working paper sets the problem and presents the solution to enable discussion during my presentation.
