Abstract

This chapter, written before the conclusion of 12-country negotiations in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (now rebranded as the 11-country Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership following the United States' withdrawal), examines services obligations in the agreement using telecommunications as a case study. A 2016 article by the same authors published in the Melbourne Journal of International Law examines the telecommunications provisions in the signed version of the treaty, focusing on international mobile roaming.
