Abstract

The present paper is mini research work on alternative fuel. Study of Combustion of single drop Coal slurry fuels has been carried by suspending coal slurry fuel droplet in combustion chamber of high ambient temperature. Liquid fuels used are water, methanol and oil. These are mixed with pulverized coal forming coal slurry fuel and also the liquid content is varied. The aim of this project is to study the combustion ignition temperature and burning rate coefficient and factors affecting it. Further, Comparison between combustion ignition temperature of coal slurry and other liquid fuel is done. Coal particle size is kept constant, while percentage of liquid content in coal slurry is varied. Coal Slurry Fuel Combustion of droplet undergoes three major stages namely, i. evaporation phase combustion ii.solid/ surface phase combustion and iii. residue. The fuels which give best results in combustion are being further tested by increasing the ambient temperature.
