Abstract

Increasing power demand, limited fossil fuel reserves and severe pollution have forced researchers in the direction to search alternate fuels. Hydrogen is most promising alternate fuel amongst the available option. In order to study the performance of spark ignition fueled with hydrogen gas under various controlling parameters such as air-fuel ratio, and engine speed, simulations were carried out on a model build in GT Power. Results obtained from simulation have shown good agreement with experimental results. After validation of the model with available experimental data, it was used as a simulating tool to predict the performance of engine under different equivalence ratios and engine speeds.
