Abstract

This short essay introduces the teacher’s manual to my casebook, Modern Constitutional Law: Cases, Problems and Practice. The essay discusses the motivation behind yet another constitutional law casebook and points out some of the book’s distinguishing features. These include a focus on those areas of constitutional law that are likely to be relevant to the practice areas in which most law students today are likely to find themselves after law school, and an effort to introduce desirable difficulties into the material, to use constitutional law as a primary basis for student acquisition of the critical reasoning skills necessary to future success in law school and in the practice of law.

Keywords: Teaching constitutional law, pedagogy
