Abstract

Indonesian Abstract: Pentingnya Nitrogen bagi pertumbuhan awal tanaman tebu menjadi salah satu alasan mengapa subsidi pupuk perlu diberikan kepada petani tebu. Namun dalam hasil simulasi menunjukkan, bahwa pemberian subsidi pupuk melalui penurunan harga pupuk Urea sebesar 50 %, kurang membawa manfaat bagi kinerja tebu. Perluasan luas lahan tebu, produktivitas lahan tebu, tingkat rendemen dan produksti tebu memberi hasil kurang memuaskan. Namun dari pengalaman di India, subsidi pupuk dianggap penting, bahkan hingga didirikan Kementerian Pupuk yang mengisyaratkan pentingnya pupuk dan subsidi pupuk dilakukan. Di Brazil, pupuk Urea dapat meningkatkan kinerja tebu. Demikian pula di Jepang, pemberian pupuk Urea bahkan bermanfaat bagi dua sisi sekaligus, yakni menaikkan Dry Matter (bahan kering) dan sebagai tanaman pembersih Nitrogen. Oleh karenanya, hasil simulasi ini perlu dikaji ulang dan disikapi hati-hati.

English Abstract: The importance of Nitrogen to the early growth of sugarcane crops is one reason why fertilizer subsidies need to be given to sugarcane farmers. However, in the simulation results show that fertilizer subsidy through Urea fertilizer price decrease by 50%, bring less benefit to sugarcane performance. The expansion of sugarcane area, sugarcane productivity, sugar content level and sugar cane production gave a less satisfactory result. However, from experience in India, fertilizer subsidies are considered important, even to the establishment of the Ministry of Fertilizer which suggests the importance of fertilizer and fertilizer subsidies. In Brazil, Urea fertilizer can improve the performance of sugarcane. Similarly in Japan, Urea fertilizer is even useful for two sides at once, namely raising Dry Matter (dry material) and as a Nitrogen cleaning plant. Therefore, the results of this simulation need to be reviewed and addressed carefully.
