Abstract

Nowadays, the video game industry has perhaps become the fastest growing sector in the entertainment industry, rivaling the size of the motion picture industry and surpassing the music industry in terms of overall revenue.

This article aims to provide the reader with information about the issue of video games as objects of intellectual property law. The paper is an introduction to the topic and examines also the origin of videogames, their creative elements and types, including a short Comparative law analysis on the topic.
