Abstract

This report describes the effects of environmental harm on the human rights of children, including their rights to life, health, and development, to an adequate standard of living, and to play and recreation. It also describes the obligations of States to protect children from such harm, including obligations to provide for environmental education, information and assessment, to consider the views of children in policy-making, to provide access to effective remedies, to set substantive standards at levels that protect children from harm, and to take additional measures to protect children who are particularly at risk.
