Abstract

In a boiler drum liquid level control problems commonly occurring in power plant. This paper , proposes the control and regulation of the level of the boiler drum using MATLAB. There are two types of methods like conventional PID and Fuzzy-PID using to controlling and tuning purpose. One of the major concern in the steam power plants is the control of water level in the boilers which otherwise leads to serious effects. These effects can be reduced to a greater extent by maintaining the level of the boiler drum, thereby the efficiency of the system can be increased to a major extent. A comparison of the time domain characteristics and the simulation results is made using two control techniques. From the results it is concluded that the hybrid Fuzzy-PID control is better response when compared to other control techniques.
