Abstract

Indian economy is highly dependent on agricultural productivity. Diseases and insect pest are the major problem that threatens the cultivation of plants. These pathogens will directly effect on quantity and quality of crops. If proper care is not taken, then it will cause serious effect on plants which result on stunted growth. Using automatic detection technique, the plant disease can be detected at very early stage itself. Automatic detection technique is used which reduces large work of monitoring in big farms of crops. Image pre-processing is used to improve the quality of plants and reduce the undesired distortion. The image smoothing is done by using smoothing filter for reducing the noise. In order to increase the contrast, the image enhancement method is used. Image segmentation, which is an important aspect for disease detection in plant leaf, is done by using threshold and K means clustering methods. color and texture features are extracted and given to SVM classifier. SVM classier is used to improve the accuracy and efficiency than other methods. Automatic detection method is less computational efforts and less cost.
