Abstract

Women play cogent roles in the production of food, increasing rural livelihoods and ensuring environmental sustainability. They are pragmatic to achieving a stable biodiversity and reducing climate change effect. Apparently, women, whom are major actors in the food production and environmental protection activities; have poor access to cogent resources and poor representation at community level decision making. This paper uses journals, reports and articles to evaluate the need for the domestication of gender and women policies in Nigeria at the national and local level.
