Abstract

This paper presents the line balancing in production of damper assembly line. Lean manufacturing technique is implemented to eliminate the wastes (transport and motion) and also to improve the overall efficiency. By implementation of transport conveyor between two work stations, the unnecessary activities and cycle time can be reduced. The result of improvement has been compared to the current system in terms of efficiency and profit. The project is carried out in Tenneco Automotive Pvt. Ltd, Hosur.
