Abstract
Climate change has significant implications for health systems, which are both impacted by its effects and involved in its exacerbation. Health systems have a critical role to play in addressing the challenge of climate change, but their engagement is not assured. This report investigates opportunities for engaging Canadian health systems in addressing the challenge of climate change. Drawing on original research, it discusses the arrangements, expectations and requirements that shape health system responses to climate change and explores initiatives in Canada and abroad that aim to mobilize health systems to act on resilience and sustainability issues.
