The Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report of 2017 has ranked India as 40th most preferred tourism destination out of 136 countries participated in the ranking. For a developing economy like India, tourism plays a quite significant role thereby contributing 9.6% towards country’s GDP.
While many foreign tourists prefer to visit India to explore its cultural heritage, people within India also contribute significantly to the tourism by visiting various tourist destinations. Most of the state governments are trying to attract the tourists by advertising about their tourist spots using online platforms like websites and social media. Medial tourism alone constitutes $3 billion to the economy where people come from across the globe for medical treatment. In any case, the first-hand information about any state tourist spots comes from their websites. These websites are being accessed by a wide range of people including people with visual impairment.
