Abstract
Internet users leave vast volumes of online data behind when passing away. This has given rise to a new form of economisation of death, what is here referred to as the ‘Digital Afterlife Industry’. In this article, I present some of my research on this phenomenon, and identify a series of macroscopic, microscopic and conceptual challenges that arise from it.
