Smart City Through the Control of the Healthcare Textiles Transport

The quality of life of the citizens is more exposed nowadays due to the transport of hazardous material through cities. Consequently, the logistic of Healthcare Textile, as a source of contamination, has become a major concern in Morocco nowadays. Hence, it imposes to authorities and professionals the obligation to perform an economic and sustainable logistic solution. Through this paper we are going to propose a new design to collect the used healthcare textile based on routing and risk optimization. This model, as part of vehicle routing problems, is expressed as a linear program and takes into account the heterogeneity of the fleet and compliance with time windows. Due to the complexity of the model, we opted for the Genetic Algorithm to treat large instances. The appropriate choice of the parameters of the genetic algorithm has helped to show how it can contribute to seek trade-off between the main objectives related to the supply of Healthcare Textile.
