Abstract

This paper is an annotated edition of the Constitution of the United States of America, as proposed by the 1787 Convention, ratified in 1788, and effective in 1789, together with the amendments ratified since that time.

This edition may be of most use to law students, but may also be of interest to law professors, other scholars, and the general public.

Extensive annotations, which may be of particular interest, are provided by Professor Wildenthal to the Reconstruction Amendments (1865-70) (13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments) at pages 16-21, to the 25th Amendment (1967) at pages 25-27, and to the 27th Amendment (1992) at pages 28-29.
