Abstract

This paper is aimed to evaluate the Marginal Propensity to Consume (MPC) and Marginal Propensity to save (MPS) of Khulna Metropolitan City dwellers. It covered all types of income earners who are classified into three groups. Moreover, an attempt has also been made to prove the Keynesian Theory of MPC. The study expressed that higher the income higher the tendency to save. In our study, it has come into Light that 56% of LIG, 48% of MIG and 16% of HIG have no savings. Most of the MG (28%) & LIG (40%) savers lie in tie range of Tk. 15OO and most of the HIG savers lie in the income range of tk.-15OO-2OOO. However, it is an attempt which is token primarily to uncover the relationship between MPC and MPS of Khulna City dwellers.
