Abstract

This Book Chapter discusses parentage addressed by transgender people in relation to Massachusetts family law. It begins with a general overview of the social, medical, and legal environment relevant to transgender people. It then addresses questions relating to gender transition and the use of assisted reproductive technologies. It concludes by outlining the possible use of an equitable claim for recognition of a parent-child relationship.
