Abstract

Considering the digital economy and the constant changes imposed by technological innovation, the definition of the relevant market of Big Data allows to understand the market structure and related issues to competition as mergers and acquisitions, market power, verticalization, abuse of dominance, and therefore, to the consumer welfare. The present paper presents a brief discussion about Competition in the Era of Big Data; What is Big Data; Big Data relevant market: general remarks; Segmenting the “Big Data Cycle” into three sub-markets; and Verticalization and abuse of dominant position.
