Abstract
Social structures have changed a great deal over the last century. One of the related consequences is that non-state actors have gained increasing power over individuals. Against this background, particular attention has been paid to the protection of the weaker party in Dutch academic literature over the last decade, especially in the sphere of contract law and fundamental rights law.
