Abstract

Indian subcontinent inherited the British legal system since the colonial days. As a result, Bangladesh had a very structured legal system since its inception. The country has about 45 Acts/Laws relevant to investment, business, trade and commerce in various sectors. In addition, there are more than 10 policies providing incentives and support to promote private sector investment in various sectors. Existing investment, business, trade and commerce related Acts/Laws and policies of the country could be classified into 18 different categories.
