Abstract

Chinese Abstract:

English Abstract: Through the comparative study of characters, it is found that the pictographic names of the Nile are similar to those of the Chinese character "River","He"(河). However, "River" is an abbreviation of ancient the Yellow River in ancient times. Further, the pictographic name of the Nile river in late periods was found to be similar with the Chinese characters "Yi Luo"(伊洛) which are two tributaries in the midstream of the Yellow River. From this, we can conclude that the Yellow River was considered to be the Nile River. After immigrating to China, the ancient Egyptians imagined the Yellow River to the Nile by analogy.
