Patient Knowledge About HIV / Aids Prevention Before and After the Existence of Media in Health Promotion Leaflet in Hospital Dr. Dradjat Prawiranegara Serang 2017

Human Immonodeficiency Virus (HIV) or Acquires Immune Deficiency Syndrome (AIDS) is one of the most attended diseases worldwide. HIV / AIDS in Indonesia is many new case reports each year are affected by the HIV virus. The high incidence of HIV / AIDS among the wider community, it is necessary to prevent HIV / AIDS efforts one of which can be done by providing information through health promotion. The aim of this study is to assess the difference of patient knowledge on HIV / AIDS prevention in Hospital dr. Dradjat Prawiranegara - Serang between groups before to their leaflet media and groups after their leaflet media. The type of research used in this research is analytical research design with cross sectional approach. Samples used in this research were 140 people consisting of 70 people in before the media leaflets and 70 people in the group after their leaflets media. The instrument used in this study is a questionnaire on HIV / AIDS prevention knowledge. Health promotion media used is using leaflets. Analysis of research data using Mann-Whiteney nonparametric test. The results of this study obtained p value of 0.018 (<0.05), which means there is a significant difference in knowledge between the groups before and after the media leaflet.
