Abstract

This proposed roundtable discussion will flow around questions of how Black social justice activists and other members of the global majority can honor their ancestors and predecessors by grounding their contemplative practices within African and African American cultural traditions. We will consider how we can use culturally relevant and appropriate practices to drive and sustain political mobilization, especially at the micro and meso levels.

Keywords: contemplative practice, social justice, cultural relevance, micro politics
