Abstract
This chapter is published in the book Environmental Law in New Zealand, edited by Peter Salmon and David Grinlinton. The chapter briefly explains the nature of anthropogenic-induced climate change and ozone depletion, outlines the relevant international treaty law, and then considers the national regulatory schemes introduced to address these problems. The chapter places specific emphasis on climate change in New Zealand and the role of the Resource Management Act 1991 in mitigating and adapting to climate change in this context.
