Abstract

This paper is about research in Economics, more specifically about research on Financial Economics undertaken at a policy-making institution. Usually, Central Banks, Ministries of Finance and Commercial Banks frequently create and uses economic research, My aim is to stimulate critical reflection on an issue that has received relatively little attention: how alternative presuppositions about economics can lead to different narrative ways of researching and theorizing economic policy. This paper discusses an approach to narrative institutional research grounded in modeling can open up new ways of thinking about the experience, and help us take reflexive responsibility for our research.
