Abstract

This discussion paper considers the application of blockchain-based technologies in the praxis of organized religion. This ties one of the oldest social structures into one of the most recent digital innovations. In examining the praxis of various organizations across religious traditions, the paper finds that there are several means of deploying blockchain-based technologies, particularly for transaction facilitation as well as for fundraising exercises.
