Abstract

QoS-aware data dissemination and reliable communication are two basic requirements of any application in Vehicular Ad Hoc Networks (VANETs). Dynamic topology and frequent disconnections possess various challenges to attain efficient data delivery. Data dissemination on the reliable and stable path is also getting worse under high moving vehicular environment. To handle the efficient dissemination of data, this paper proposes an algorithm called Discrete Particle Swarm Optimization (DPSO) based on stable link connections. The concept of angular Euclidian distance is used to calculate the objective function of a reliable path problem. The proposed approach is simulated in network simulator (NS-3.26) and results are compared with existing approaches using average throughput, packet delivery ratio, and routing overhead. The results validate that the proposed technique achieves better performance than the existing considered approaches.
