Abstract

Plastics have become an inevitable material in India in diverse forms as food packing covers, bags, sachet etc; thus remain in widespread use. The increase in the amount of population leads to a great increase in the production of waste. This has led to the accumulation of plastic wastes from households as well as shops. An automated communication mechanism between the household and waste collecting organization would help to monitor and collect the plastic, for recycling or centralized disposal. This article proposes an IoT based design for partially automating the plastic waste collection mechanism from households. Such type of system will help the municipality or corporation to monitor and manage the plastic collection and disposal respectively in a centralized way.
