Abstract

An open reservoir simulator applicable for field scale simulations of CO2 storage and CO2-EOR simulation studies is developed. In this paper we present a general overview of the simulator describing important design choices made to facilitate field scale CO2-EOR simulations. Emphasis is put on efficient and robust handling of uncertainties in the model description by considering an ensemble of model realizations. The capability of the simulator is demonstrated through a field case example, where CO2 is injected into hundred realizations of the Norne field model.
