Abstract

Information Technology has been developing since ages and it is, in some or the other way, affecting the environment. Different techniques are being developed to minimize the effect of the use of different hardware as well as software. There are different organizations coming up to protect this planet earth from e-waste Sustainable software and hardware are mandatory for the greening of information technology field. As there is need to research and educate students and industry personnel about the sustainability and the effect on the environment, this paper reflects the ongoing programs going on in industries around the globe to develop green initiative in information technology.
