Abstract

In this paper an exhaustive survey of literature on relay and jammer selection in cooperative networks is discussed with an objective to understand these methods for improving physical layer (PHY) security. There are many methods suggested for relay selection, but there has been little work that focuses on relay selection for improving PHY security. Here the surveyed literature covers methods in different environment such as with and without channel state information (CSI), single and multiple intermediate nodes, perfect or statistical position of eavesdropper etc.

Keywords: Cooperative communication, Physical layer system (PHY), Channel state information (CSI)
