Abstract
This article discusses the imminent introduction in Australia of the mandatory breach notification scheme. It also considers the situation in various Australian States and Territories, and the deficiencies in Australia's privacy and data protection frameworks including the need to consider the connection with 'protected disclosures' legislation.
