Abstract

Spatial Big Data is one of the crucial infrastructures for contemporary information technological world nowadays. Data scientists have been working hard on designing various techniques for spatial big data management. Working with spatial big data is entirely different than most of the other types of data. There are several types of spatial data such as vector data comprising point, polygon and line, raster data comprising geo-images e.g. google earth and graph e.g. path, edge, roadmap. Storing and querying spatial big data depends on the kind of application, it is being used for. There are several challenges in spatial big data storage management and querying. This study discusses and summarizes the challenges of different indexing strategies.
