Abstract

Environmental protection is the act of giving maximum protection to the environment which is the national condition (air, land and water) in which we live or found ourselves. Waste management on the other hand is the collection, transport, processing, recycling or disposal and monitoring of waste materials. Waste management is a problem in Nigeria, as elsewhere particularly, the developing countries. It is presently one of the most challenging aspect of the present day environmental protection policies. Since we all produce unwanted by products and residues in nearly everything we do, these unwanted by products and residues of whatever nature needs effective management, hence this paper attempts to look at possible ways of achieving proper waste management.
