Abstract

This paper examines The Place of Rural Women in Environmental Protection in Sub Sahara Africa. Observations in our immediate surrounding on women and the environment shows that women are significant actors in natural resources management and they are major contributors to environmental rehabilitation and conservation. We looked at the major contributions of women to environmental protection, challenges faced by women in their efforts to manage the environment. We discovered that women play important role in environmental protection and suggested that proper orientation, governmental support among other will go a long way in enhancing women participation in environmental protection.
