Abstract

This paper provides a basic introduction to international law for the average lawyer. As lawyers and scholars, we all know that we and our clients interact in global economy. International law — at least to some degree — has become important to all of us. But many lawyers have had very little training in the field. The article is a brief introduction that lays out an overall framework for understanding what public international law is and how it works. It serves as a quick initiation into international law for some and a stepping stone for those who wish or need to go further into the topic.
