Abstract

In November 2011, the European Union convened an EU-Bangladesh Civil Society Seminar on Human Rights and Decent Work in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The aim of the Seminar was to discuss ways to strenghten the social dimension of globalisation and to support Bangladesh in implementing the ILO's Decent Work Agenda. The article describes the EU's approach to promoting human rights and labour protection in third countries in collaboration with civil society organisations, and reports on the findings of the 2011 Bangladesh Civil Society Seminar on Human Rights and Decent Work.
