Abstract

Breaking Bad is currently ranked fifth by the Internet Movie Database’s (IMDB) Top 250 television shows based on user rankings and second among 100 shows reviewed by The Hollywood Reporter (Duncan, Muchiri, and Paraschiv, 2020). The show has won over 140 different awards and students rank the show as one of their favorites (Al-Bahrani, Holder, Patel, and Sheridan, 2016). The show centers around a high school chemistry teacher’s battle with cancer and his decision to “break bad” and begin producing a highly pure form of methamphetamine in order to financially support his family. The show provides a wide variety of microeconomic concepts, specifically foundational material and production-related content.
