Abstract
This paper presents an approach for the design of complex filter and ADC in front end receivers using OTA cells. The filter is implemented using left shift and right shift notch filters and low pass filter and these notch filters are designed by shifting high pass filter.Further, the complex filter achieves high image rejection ratio and consumes low power dissipation. However, the output of complex filter is in analog form but to use the filter in various applications it should be converted to digital form. So an ADC is designed using Voltage to Time Converter and Time to Digital Converter for the conversion to digital form. The complex filter can be used for various applications like UMTS, Bluetooth, WLAN, GPS etc due to its tunability to different frequencies by applying bias current or bias voltage to internal circuit of OTA. It is also employed in bio-medical applications. The power consumed by the circuit is twenty percent less than the existing topology. The complex filter circuit is implemented usingc adence virtuoso with GPDK 90nm technology and it has power consumption of 3pw for a supply voltage of 1V.
