Abstract

What is the character of the right to procreate in the Israeli legal system? The complicated, somewhat challenging, situation of the Israeli legal system, influenced by religion, modernity, history, and culture of Israeli society, leads to a complex right to procreate. As will be explored in this paper through an analysis of two paradigmatic assisted reproductive technologies: surrogacy and egg donation, the right exists, with restrictions, and is subject to a continuing process of expansion.
