Abstract

This paper constitutes a policy proposal regarding the National Incident-Based Reporting System. Currently, the data set lacks specificity and is unnecessarily complex. Reorganizing the way the data is stored, enhancing the collection efforts, and integrating the data through real-time uploads into a decentralized architecture will reduce complications in data analysis, enhance crime analysis outcomes, and strengthen interpersonal communication and motivation of relevant stakeholders.
