Abstract

3-D CFD simulation of cyclone separator has been carried out in this section. Fluid flow and particle dynamics are studied to determine the performance of the three cyclone types in ANSYS Fluent 14.5. The three cyclone separators studied here are 1D3D, 2D2D and 1D2D. In 1D3D, !D represents the length of the cylindrical part of the body is 1 times the diameter of the body, and 3D represents the length of the conical part is three times the diameter of the body.
