Abstract
With the recent increase in demand of renewable energy, the demand for a power generation that uses a variable speed wind turbine driving a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) or permanent magnet synchronous generator (PMSG) is high. Now days the use of PMSG is increasing due to its importance. This paper focuses on modeling of wind turbine with permanent magnet synchronous generator which is connected to the grid through a fully controlled frequency converter that is composed of rectifier, boost converter and grid-side DC/AC inverter. MPPT technique is also used to obtain maximum power from the variable speed Turbine and also different Control strategies are developed to Synchronize power of wind turbine system with grid and Simulation analyses have been performed by using MATLAB/SIMULINK.
Keywords: wind turbine, PMSG (permanent magnet synchronous generator), MPPT (maximum power point tracking) technique, grid synchronization
