Sliding Mode Control for Torque Ripple Mitigation in Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor

Abstract

This project presents a new extended sliding mode control of permanent magnet synchronous motor with different uncertainities. This Extended sliding mode control can dynamically adjust to the variations of the controlled system and maintaining high tracking performance of the extended sliding mode controller. The extended sliding mode control is proposed to compensate strong disturbances and achieve high servo precision. The sliding mode control is proposed for the rotor speed and stator resistance estimation, under assumptions that only the stator currents and voltages are available for measurement. The results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method through simulation.
